Performance drop

Every extra 100 ms of LCP costs 1% of sales on average. Korvus catches slowdowns before they get expensive.

The problem

Your pages' load time (LCP) gets worse, often after a deployment, a CDN update or a new third-party script. On paid traffic, every extra second pushes bounce rate up and conversions down.

Financial impact

According to Amazon (page latency) and Vodafone (LCP), every extra 100 ms of load time costs about 1% of sales. For a site doing €500,000/month whose LCP goes from 2.5s to 4s, the estimated loss is €45,000 to €75,000/month on mobile.

Real-world example

A fashion retailer sees their LCP jump from 2.1s to 4.8s after adding a personalization script. On their paid mobile traffic (75% of the total), conversions drop by 22%. Korvus detects the slowdown in 15 minutes.

How Korvus detects this problem

1

Korvus measures LCP on every pageview, with a focus on paid traffic

2

If LCP exceeds the set threshold (4s by default) in a statistically significant way, a perf_drop alert is triggered

3

The impact is calculated: affected paid sessions × average CPC × estimated bounce rate

4

The alert includes the affected pages and devices to speed up diagnosis

With and without Korvus

Without Korvus

  • The slowdown goes unnoticed for days: PageSpeed Insights isn't monitored continuously
  • Bounce rate climbs silently on mobile
  • Conversions drop with no obvious explanation in GA4
  • Often found during a manual investigation into falling ROAS

With Korvus

  • Alert in 15 minutes with the estimated financial impact
  • Affected pages and devices identified
  • Targeted fix: no need to audit the whole site
  • Your paid budget is protected because visitors land on fast pages

Frequently asked questions

Why does LCP matter so much for e-commerce?

LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) measures how long it takes for the page's main content to become visible. It's the first moment a visitor can engage with your site. Amazon found that 100 ms of extra latency cuts sales by 1%, and Vodafone gained 8% in sales by cutting its LCP by 31%.

Does Korvus measure all Core Web Vitals?

Korvus focuses on LCP because it's the performance metric most closely tied to e-commerce conversion. The other metrics (INP, CLS) are collected, but the perf_drop alert is based on the LCP of paid traffic.

Why only paid traffic?

Paid traffic has a direct cost per click. A slow page on organic traffic is a problem, but a slow page on traffic at €0.85/click is a measurable financial loss. Korvus prioritizes where the impact in euros is immediate.
